Borrower Transparency

How Loans Work & Fair Lending Terms

We believe in full transparency. Understand how our loans operate, your rights as a borrower, and our ethical handling of arrears.

1 How Our Loans Work (Step-by-Step)

At Malilangwe Finance (Pvt) Ltd, every credit facility is structured to empower the borrower rather than burden them. Here is the complete lifecycle of a loan:

Step 1: Affordability Assessment

Before approving any facility, our credit committee performs an affordability calculation. For Salary Service Bureau (SSB) civil servants, we strictly adhere to legal deduction thresholds so that your remaining net pay is sufficient for your family’s living expenses.

Step 2: Pre-Agreement Disclosure

Prior to signing, you receive a full schedule disclosing the principal amount, interest rate, tenure, administrative fees, exact monthly deduction, and total repayment amount. There are zero hidden fees.

Step 3: Rapid Disbursement

Once verified, funds are transferred directly into your designated Zimbabwean bank account (Nostro/ZiG) or verified mobile money wallet within 24 to 48 working hours.

Step 4: Automated Repayments

For civil servants, installments are deducted at source directly via the SSB monthly payroll. For SME and agricultural borrowers, repayments follow agreed harvest marketing schedules or monthly standing orders.

2 Early Repayment & Settlement Rights

Borrowers have the right to settle their loan before the maturity date. Malilangwe Finance strictly maintains a zero-penalty early settlement policy:

  • You may pay off your loan balance in part or in full at any time without penalty or exit fees.
  • Early settlement reduces total financing interest over the remaining duration of the loan.
  • Upon full settlement, our accounts team will issue an official Clearance Letter and promptly update or cancel any active payroll stop-order codes with the SSB.

3 What Happens If You Default (Arrears Policy)

We understand that life in Zimbabwe can bring unexpected hardships—such as health emergencies, bereavement, or crop disruptions. We treat arrears with empathy, professionalism, and strict adherence to fair debt collection standards:

Grace Period & Notification

If an installment fails (for example, due to payroll system reconciliation delays, inter-bank processing, or changes in department posting), you will receive a polite notification via SMS, WhatsApp, or phone call within 5 business days to verify the cause.

Voluntary Loan Restructuring

If a borrower experiences genuine distress, you are encouraged to contact our Credit Remediation Desk immediately. We can restructure your loan by extending the repayment period or adjusting the monthly installment size to match your temporary reality.

Zero-Harassment Guarantee

Malilangwe Finance strictly prohibits aggressive debt collection. Our officers will never engage in abusive language, unauthorized visits at unsocial hours, public shaming, or contacting unrelated third parties without prior statutory consent.

Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Reporting

In accordance with Zimbabwean financial regulations, where a borrower deliberately refuses to cooperate or default persists beyond 90 days without communication, the account status may be reported to licensed Credit Reference Bureaus. Maintaining timely payments protects your credit score for future financing.

4 Customer Feedback & Dispute Resolution

If you have questions, discrepancies regarding your statement, or wish to report a service issue, our Internal Dispute Resolution Desk is committed to resolving grievances within 5 business days:
