Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our credit facilities, application requirements, and disbursement timelines.
Who qualifies for an SSB Civil Servant Loan? +
Any Zimbabwean civil servant whose salary is processed through the Salary Service Bureau (SSB)—including teachers, nurses, medical staff, administrative officers, and uniformed service members with active EC numbers—qualifies for our SSB loans subject to standard net salary affordability criteria.
How fast is loan approval and disbursement? +
Once all required documents (valid ID, current payslip, 3 months bank statements) are submitted and verified, SSB loan approvals typically take between 24 and 48 hours. Funds are disbursed directly into your bank account or registered mobile wallet.
Do I need physical collateral for an SSB Loan? +
No physical collateral (such as title deeds or vehicles) is required for our Salary Service Bureau loans. The loan is secured via automated direct payroll deduction through the SSB system.
What are the requirements for Smallholder Agribusiness Finance? +
Smallholder farmers require a valid National ID, proof of farming land operations (such as an offer letter, title, lease, or endorsement from local community leadership), records or sales history from previous farming seasons, and proforma invoices or quotations for the inputs or equipment required.
Can I settle my loan before the term ends? +
Yes. Malilangwe Finance supports responsible financial management. You can settle your outstanding loan balance early at any time without punitive prepayment penalties, allowing you to save on total interest.
How do SME and Order Financing loans work? +
For SME working capital, we assess 6 months of bank or merchant mobile money statements along with business registration papers. For Order Financing, we evaluate a verified purchase order (PO) or contract from a reputable institution and can fund up to 80% of procurement costs with direct supplier disbursement.
How do I apply if I cannot visit an office in person? +
You can initiate your application completely remotely via WhatsApp. Send your initial inquiry and document scans directly to our loan officers, who will guide you step by step through digital verification.
What happens if I experience financial hardship or miss an installment? +
We adhere to a compassionate, non-predatory defaulting policy. If a payroll deduction or payment is delayed due to salary reconciliation or family emergencies, you receive a grace period and polite notification. Borrowers experiencing unexpected life shocks can contact our Credit Remediation Desk to voluntarily restructure their repayment schedule over a longer tenure. We strictly prohibit aggressive or harassing collection practices.
How does Malilangwe protect my payslip and National ID data? +
Your personal, employment, and banking information is safeguarded with strict internal confidentiality protocols and encryption in compliance with Zimbabwean data protection regulations. We never sell or share borrower data with external telemarketers or third-party marketing brokers.
What is the maximum amount I can borrow as a civil servant? +
Loan ceilings depend strictly on statutory net salary affordability thresholds set under the Salary Service Bureau (SSB). Your total monthly deductions (including any existing loans) must not exceed the legal ceiling, ensuring you retain sufficient disposable income for your household expenses.
